Step-by-Step MFD Data Migration Guide

A Migration Plan Built for Real MFD Operations

Moving data from one platform to another is not just a technical task. It is a business continuity exercise. Every folio, every SIP, every client note, and every advisory conversation has to land in the right place. This guide walks through how MFEcosystem performs an MFD data migration from start to finish.

What We Migrate

  • Investor master data — name, contact details, KYC status, PAN, bank mandates.
  • Folio and scheme holdings — folio numbers, AMC names, schemes, units, NAV-based valuation.
  • Transaction history — purchases, redemptions, switches, SIPs, STPs, SWPs, dividends.
  • SIP and systematic plans — active SIPs with amount, date, bank, and end date.
  • Advisory notes — client risk profile, goal mapping, advisor comments.

Migration Sources

  • RTA consolidated account statements (CAS) from CAMS and KFintech.
  • Structured Excel or CSV exports from legacy CRMs.
  • Custom data dumps from older portfolio management software.
  • Manual record spreadsheets maintained by independent MFDs.
  • Brokerage and GST reports needed for continuity.

The 6 Steps of Migration

1. Data Discovery

We identify where your data lives today, what formats are available, and which records need special handling.

2. Data Extract

Files are exported from the source system with your participation, preserving the original record as a backup.

3. Clean & Map

We remove duplicates, fix incomplete KYC, match folios to investors, and map schemes to AMC master data.

4. Staging Load

The cleaned data is loaded into a staging MFEcosystem environment for your review and validation.

5. User Acceptance

You and your team run reports, sample client views, and reconciliation checks before final go-live.

6. Go-Live

After approval, the data is promoted to the live account, users are trained, and the old system is archived.
